Starting Fall 2026, ChatterSoupe is excited to begin offering the research-based workshop, “Bringing Baby Home: A Gottman Workshop”. This is a parenting and relationship program designed for:

  • Couples who are planning to become parents,
  • Expectant couples,
  • New parents with children below age 3.

The Gottman Institute developed this program with a single goal: Nourishing the lives of babies and children by stirring strength and warmth into the parent relationship. According to their research, writings and website, The Gottmans have learned that when the parent’s relationship is strengthen, conflict and discord decreases which has an exemplary effect on the babies and toddlers.

Additionally, feedback from participants indicates the experience also supports the transitional time with positive outcomes including:

  • A considerable decreased rate of postpartum depression, anxiety and mood disorders,
  • Less hostility and a highter rate of overall happiness,
  • A substancial decrease in pathways towards divorce or dissolutions.

This program is backed by over 50 years of research and teaches parents (or parents-to-be):

  • How to improve their friendship,
  • Address conflict effectively,
  • Keep both parents engaged in care providing and parenting,
  • Improve relationship satisfaction between parent and child,
  • Ability to recognize psychological and emotional needs for family members,
