More information about services is available here.
Visit the Fees and Insurance page for information about how we work with insurances and use our benefits checker for using out-of-network plans including PPO, POS, HDHP for commercial and non-traditional Medicare. About ChatterSoupe
ChatterSoupe, PLLC was founded by Amy Belval, LMFT, BC-TMH whose training is specific to treatment as a marriage and family therapist. More information about the specifics of Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) is available from the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy.
Training for a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) differs significantly from other psychology-based professions in that the basis of the services are provided from the systemic perspective. Most other professions are consider to be linear in their training. This difference in training is experienced from the moment the interview assessment begins as the provider will inquire about what is happening within your life beyond the feelings, emotions and behaviors. A quality assessment will likely longer for the practitioner to complete and usually includes numerous self-assessments to complete outside of the meeting sessions. It is also common for an MFT to encourage you to bring others into the session; sometimes regularly, sometimes periodically depending upon the customized plan the therapist makes specifically for your needs.
